- Assist orthodontists in providing patient care and treatment during orthodontic procedures.
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments.
- Take and develop dental x-rays.
- Assist with patient assessments, including taking and recording vital signs.
- Provide chairside assistance during orthodontic procedures.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care.
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program.
- X-ray certification required.
- Experience working in a pediatric dental or orthodontic setting preferred.
- Knowledge of medical coding and documentation practices.
- Familiarity with Epic or other electronic medical record systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
